It is important that you understand your offers and how to fulfil any conditions before making any replies. The following information below may help you to understand your offer, but if the conditions are not clear, please contact the university or college for clarification.
If your offer is unconditional, the university or college is offering you a place based on the qualifications you already hold. You may however be required to fulfil other non-academic conditions. If relevant, these will be detailed in the offer above.
If your offer is conditional, the university or college requires you to fulfil the conditions above before the place can be confirmed. They may specify that completed qualifications can be used to meet the conditions or they may exclude specific qualifications. The offer may require you to obtain certain grades or marks for qualifications you are taking, complete your current course, or obtain a certain number of UCAS Tariff points. Visit www.ucas.com/students/ucas_tariff/ for details of the Tariff. If you count Tariff points for an A level, you cannot also count Tariff points for an AS qualification in the same subject when calculating your overall Tariff score: the same applies to SQA Advanced Highers and Highers.
The offer may specify whether you can use completed qualifications to meet the conditions or it may exclude specific qualifications. For conditional offers including GCSEs or Scottish Standard Grades Grades A-C or 1-3 are usually considered to be a pass.
